FACILITIES
The 25,200 sq. ft. Discovery Aviation facility includes:
- 7,200 sq. ft. Clean Room
- 18,000 sq. ft. Trim, Route, Drill and Paint Area
The Clean Room contains a Positive Pressure Room that is maintained between 65 and 75 degrees F with less than 60% relative humidity at all times. The area is 7,200 sq. ft. and has a Federal Standard 209 Class 400,000. The room contains a Gerber CNC controlled cutter with 6'x24' long work table.
The Trim, Drill and Paint Area is 18,000 sq. ft. of Climate Controlled workspace. It is capable of handling large parts and multi-step processes. The paint booth is a side downdraft measuring 14’w x 24’l x 10’h in size.
The Ovens are computer controlled and operated by trained professionals. Each oven has a 400 degrees F maximum operating temperature. They have a fully customizable ramp rate and dwell time to meet any customer requirement. Discovery Composites has 2 ovens, each 8’w x 20′l x 8’h in dimension, to handle large parts.
The company is located in Melbourne, Florida, often referred to as the Space Coast. The area boasts one of the highest concentrations of space and aviation companies in the country. Discovery’s facility is located at the Melbourne International Airport.
